It surely can't be good
To be so consumed
With other people's issues,
So acutely aware
Of every inflection of pride,
Having an internal radar
That's always on the lookout
For any signs of other people's selfishness
Or unseemly behavior.
What kind of a person do you become
When you police morality?
Will we all be better for it
If you become our watchdog of "righteousness"?
Surely your inspections
Might yield better fruit
If they were spent mostly
On yourself?
