Hi everyone, happy holidays!!! This year is almost coming to an end so it is time to recall all the movies I saw this year and make a list of my top 10 favourite movies of the year. Note, I did not get to see all the movies I wanted to see this year (yet to see the new Avatar movie) . so below are my top 10 movies of this year.

10)The Lost City:

Although I did not review this movie I still think it was pretty good. It tells the story of a writer Loretta (Sandra Bullock)who got kidnapped and taken to a foreign country because the villain wants her to help him find the lost city she talked about in her book. I am a fan of Sandra Bullock and I think she had a great chemistry with he costar Channing Tatum.

9) Ticket To Paradise:

This movie is a fun one. It stars great veteran actors, Julia Roberts and George Clooney. It is about Georgia and David who are divorced and are trying to stop their daughter from making the same mistake they did. Their daughter Lily, was about to get married to a guy she just met and her parents think she is about to make a huge mistake. So Georgia and David put their differences aside to sabotage their daughter's wedding. It is a romantic comedy and trust me, you'll have lots of laughs.

8) Senior Year:

This is a comedy starring Rebel Wilson whom I love from Pitch Perfect(My favourite movie of all time) . In this movie, Rebel Wilson plays the role of a high school cheerleader who got into a coma after falling during a cheer routine. She wakes up 20 years later and wants to go back to high school and become prom queen. I love the message of this movie which is we can achieve anything we want to do in life.

7) Day Shift:

This is a Netflix movie about vampires and vampire hunters. It stars Jamie Foxx who is a vampire hunter trying to make money to take care of his family. I love this movie because of the huge value of family the main character had throughout this movie.

6) The Princess:

This is an action thriller set in medieval times. It is about a princess who was trying to protect her community from a tyrant. A man leads a coup against her father and he is forcing her to marry him but she refuses. This movie is action-packed and almost every scene includes fighting. I like the theme of this movie which is about female empowerment and courage.

5) Marry Me:

This movie is a romantic comedy starring Jeniffer Lopez and Owen Wilson. J Lo plays the role of Kat Valdez a famous singer who is set to marry her fiance live on stage but he cheats on her a night before their wedding and she finds out. Heartbroken, she chooses a random guy from the audience Charlie (Owen Wilson ) to marry instead. I love this movie because it is about finding love where you least expect it.

4) Aisha :

Aisha tells the story of an immigrant in Ireland. Aisha (Letitia Wright) is a Nigerian who escaped to Ireland after her father and brother had been killed by debtors. This movie talks about how Ireland's immigration system is not always favourable. Aisha just wanted a better life for herself and her mother but that was not the case. I love this movie because it was so heartfelt and because it is based on a Nigerian woman from Edo state (I am totally biased here. lol it is my list) Also I am a very huge fan of Letitia Wright since Black Panther.

3) Me Time:

This is a comedy starring Kevin Hart and Mark Whalberg. it tells the story of a stay-at-home dad Sonny (Kevin) who was convinced to spend time with his best friend who invited him to his 44th birthday party. The party was full of ups and downs that neither Sonny nor his best friend Huck saw coming. This movie is hilarious and I recommend it.

2) The Woman King:

This movie is based on real-life events. It is a historical action drama about the Agojies a group of female warriors that protected the people of Dahomey in the 1800s. The star of the movie Viola Davis played the role of Nanisca the head of the Agojies. The people of Dahomey were under attack from the Oyo empire who captured them and sold them to slave traders. The Agojies went to war with the Oyo empire and they defeated them.Viola Davis did great in this movie. The cast were dedicated and they performed well in this movie and it was epic. Also, the costumes were on point.

1)Black Panther: Wakanda Forever :

This is a sequel to Black Panther 2018. It shows how the people of wakanda deal with the death of the black panther King T'Challa. The people of Wakanda are not only beign forced to share vibranium, they are also faced with dangerfrom a new enemy. They have to work together even in their grief to save Wakanda and protect themselves. This movie was awesome and it took my love for Letitia Wright to another level. 10/10 I highly recommend it.
