I know that the New Year can be a time of immense hope; yet, for many it's a time of anxiety and fear. For we cannot just look forward without, also, looking back. And there's often grief and heartache in the 12 months that have gone.
And this makes us nervous as we welcome the new year.
We're anxious that the future will bring tragedy and pain, or that unknown disappointments will destroy our fragile plans.
But 2023 could be our best year ever, yet. There could be something really awesome that's beyond our wildest dreams.
And as we look back on this year there are strengths we'll build upon – and we're taking these strengths with us we enter the new year.
Here are some new strengths that I've added to my list:
- In this last year, I've been better at enforcing boundaries.
- In this last year, I've been better at investing in self-care.
- In this last year, I've been better at just living in the moment.
- In this last year, I've been better at valuing my health.
So, what about you?
What strengths do you take with you into 2023? What are your own hopes and dreams? Will you risk making new plans?
"She quietly expected great things to happen to her, and no doubt that's one reason why they did." - Zelda Fitzgerald
