I always wrote for someone else, never for me- like most things I do are never for me- when I study, I do it for academic validation; when I bake, I do it because I need to use ingredients before they go bad; and when I used to write? Well, everyone told me I string sentences together really well (this is an oversimplification, I promise people said better things) so I wrote for the compliments, not for me and I killed myself, bending over backward, spending months reading and re-reading what I've written before I post it, making sure that every sentence was exquisite, that every word had its place and all of it sounded as beautiful as what tons of other people wrote on this app.
