The Sewers Must Wait

Minor spoilers for Stray

Butch:

Oops. I think I messed up.

Got the notebooks.  Wanted to explore the slums more because I figured there was all sorts of stuff I missed. Got in a basket and it was all "Chapter four: the rooftops."

No!  Come back, basket!

Can I go back?  I want to go back! I think I missed a ton of stuff!

Feminina:

As far as I can tell you can't retrace your steps, as in actually turn around and return to a previous area, but I think you can load and replay a previous chapter. Kind of like in Life is Strange, I assume. I replayed some of those, looking for collectibles.

Butch:

WHAT?  Shit. Cmon, game!  I wasn't done!

Did I miss a ton? I did, didn't I?

Feminina:

I  think you're OK, actually... the rooftops eventually let you back down to the streets. Just don't go into the sewers until you're ready to move on.

Butch:

No sewers. Check.

But sewers are so tempting in games…

Feminina:

Just like in real life!

I know, I know, but do your best to control the very natural urge to dive right into them the first chance you get.

Butch:

I shall resist temptation.  I shall say "I shall resist the temptation to dive into sewers because I want to go back to the slums!"
Games make you say odd things.

Oh, and, while I'm not eager to play Plague Tale right away (hardly a holiday themed game), seems it's on sale for 39 bucks (down from 60) at Amazon for Black Friday.  Do we want to grab it for later?

Feminina:

Oh...probably. Yeah, all right.

I am excited about the 700,000 rats or whatever.

Butch:

As am I, but do we want to plunge right in?  I'm rather enjoying this run of rather mellow games.

It's only 300,000 rats at a time.  Barely any rats at all.

Feminina:

What?! I'll hardly even know they're there!

But no, I don't need to do it instantly.

Butch:

Phew.

I still have a lot of cat stuff to do, yes?

Feminina:

A fair amount, yeah, but not 50 hours or anything. It's a nice, compact little game.

Butch:

I'm cool with that.

I'm digging it, but I figure the gimmick wouldn't hold up for 50 hours.

I hope it gets puzzly again.  I was sort of surprised when, after getting to the slums, it lost a lot of its puzzle aspects.  That was a lot of "wander around, find things" and less "solve puzzles."

This next bit looks like a lot of "run from Zurks."  Not excited.

Can we please, when we play Plague Tale, call the rats Zurks?

Feminina:

Not unless they glow this time around. I have standards.

Weird standards, but standards.

Butch:

Fair.

I may slip from time to time.  It's just so much fun to say!

Zurk zurk zurk.

Feminina:

Maybe they'll glow and I'll allow it! Anything is possible in the wilderness of bananas that that game turned into.

Butch:

Dude, if they do, I'm going to go bananas myself.

ZURKS!
