In the 34th match of the T20 World Cup 2022, the Netherlands won the match by 5 wickets with Zimbabwe due to great performance in bowling and fielding. After winning this match, the Netherlands was still in the last position with 2 points whereas Zimbabwe was placed in the 4th position with 3 points after losing this match as per the points tables.
Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and chose to bat first and was all out at only 117 runs in 20 overs due to great bowling by Paul van Meekeren 3/29 (4), Bas de Leede 2/14 (4), Logan van Beek 2/17 (2.2), Brandon Glover 2/29 (4), and Fred Klaassen 1/17 (4). Both Sikandar Raza 40 (24), and Sean Williams 28 (23) were good batting from the Zimbabwe side. After this inning, Zimbabwe set a low target of 118 runs in 20 overs for the Netherlands to win this match.
During chasing, Netherlands loses 5 wickets, reached the target of 118 runs in 18 overs, and won the match by 5 wickets with Zimbabwe due to great batting by Max O'Dowd 52 (47), Tom Cooper 32 (29), and Bas de Leede 12* (12). Richard Ngarava 2/18 (4), Blessing Muzarabani 2/23 (4), and Luke Jongwe 1/25 (2) were good bowling from the Zimbabwe side.
Max O'Dowd (NED), 52 (47), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
