"Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach." Hebrews 13:14
There is a risk in walking with God but the rewards are overwhelming. The journey is controversial, unpredictable and will take you into dark places.
The altar of God is Holy. In the Old Testament the blood of animals provided forgiveness of sins and made the Israelites clean in the eyes of God.
However, the bodies of the animals were contaminated and were required to be burned outside the camp. Jesus was also crucified outside the camp. The camp represents the essence of God in the Holy city of Jerusalem. Today, the Holy city is the kingdom of God located in Heaven.
As a Christ follower you have to go outside the camp bearing the rebuke of God over sin. There is no continuing city for a believer sitting in a church or functioning in the world.
We are not of the world and must seek the high prize of God through our journey outside the camp.
We must go outside into the ugly morass of humanity. If you attempt to live in the camp you will be tied to the chains of religion and never experience the Living Christ. The signs and wonders of God occur in dark places inhabited by those living under a stronghold of Satan.
You and I are imperfect human vessels operating with the powerful life of Christ dwelling within us. We live and move and have our being outside the camp. This is where we can please God. The camp is reserved for you after death.
The charge from God is to offer the sacrifice of praise to Jesus with your lips and to have a heart of thanksgiving. This transcends all your troubles. We have no excuse regardless of the dire conditions of life.
God desires for you to do good and share your abundance with others.
The sacrifice of denying self and living for Jesus brings great pleasure to the Most High and you will be rewarded with the treasures of God.
