In the past if a woman was found out to be indulging in casual sex she was likely to be crucified at the society's altar but nowadays it's no longer viewed as a big deal since its deemed as a woman being sexually liberated. The current culture not only permits it but also encourages it. This can only be drawn back to the feminist movement in the 1960's which advocated for women to embrace the power in their sexuality which was then easily enabled by the introduction of the birth control pill. Sex without fear and guilt became easy for women since they were now free to exercise this freedom. What a man can do a woman can do better became the slogan which also dominated the sexual lives of women. Modern women are delaying to get into marriage but are still having sex gratification which is contributing to many of them living single lives. After all they can get it without getting married. A lot of women are sleeping with guys they do not know or love.

Inasmuch as casual sex has been encouraged there are matters that have not yet been tackled, like how men and women are different in desires, fantasies and sexual behavior responses. Men can have sex without having an emotional connection or even getting attached unlike women who are emotional beings. The biggest lie that has been told is that women can have sex without any emotions involved. In order for a woman to get heightened pleasure that means there will be a level of emotional connect that is required.

Based on research, during sexual intercourse in women there is a hormone that is released which is called oxytocin also known as the cuddle hormone. This is a hormone that requires something to attach to and if it doesn't get, especially when it's done with a man who is not emotionally involved, the result will be post-orgasm regret. This is accompanied with feelings of sadness and anger and a constant reminder of the hollowness of the sex. This is why there are women who will cry after sex because there wasn't any attachment and they thought they wouldn't need it but the hormone got released. There are women who will regret and it's not because the sex was not satisfactory but because the hormone didn't get what it wanted and that was an attachment.

Women and men are different in sexual behaviors. There are stages in sex starting from foreplay which is always the first step, in-between and foreplay, the last step when the act has ended. What should happen afterwards considering that everything has been finalized? According to sexologist prof Joachim Osur, men need at least 30 minutes in their teenage years to as long as 24 hours in their elderly ages to recover before initiating another cycle.

After the act, there are men who turn to the other side as a result of fatigue and just sleep leaving the woman longing for a kiss, touch or cuddles. For most women it's not done until there these after-play activities taking place especially if they didn't get heightened, so this will likely make up for it. In other words, women want after-play to be loving as fore-play and there should be no pressure to head to 'other things'.

In the current society which seems to welcome sexual liberation, there are truths that have been withheld and there is a conflict between what women are told and what they feel. This is bringing so much confusion, dissatisfaction and unnecessary suffering. The truth is that women can never have sex like men and until they acknowledge that, they will save themselves from more heartbreak and years of going through therapy. Casual sex is not something that leaves women happy and content. There is always a deep-rooted sadness in them which they will not likely to admit.
