It is, in fact, the material insecurities of life that cause our lives to be spiritually established. The dwindling brook at Kerith Ravine, where Elijah sat in thought, is a true reflection of our lives. One way or the other, the lesson is to master the difference between the gift (brook) and the Giver (God). The gift maybe seasonal, but the Giver is eternal.
The drying brook was a problem to Elijah until his arrival at Zeraphath and suddenly, everything became so clear. God's hard instructions to move on are never His last words to us, I mean the waste, woe, tears of life belong to its interlude, not its finale!!!!
They are talking about the upcoming recession, some say it's going to be short-lived and some are saying get ready to live in the new normal. Whichever the way, in recession wealth doesn't vanish, but it changes hands. The question is, are you in right standing with God?
Ecclesiastes 2:26 For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God.
If you have a drying up brook that God had opened for you trust the Giver of the brook not the gift. The giver will not leave you nor forsake you!
