Patience is a virtue and it takes a lot of hard work. How can I say that because I had a very bad temper for a long time, but have mellowed over the years and have wisely learned to pick my battles.

Keeping your temper requires ongoing work on your part and the part of your support system and some days you do well and other days your just tough on yourself. Some days are just what we all term as a bad day.

Let's take the word patience look at it one letter at a time:

P-self control is one of definitions for patient in Webster's New American Dictionary. Patience is learning self control. Now that is a beautiful definition. Isn't that what we all have to do when learning the virtue of patience.

A -Actions. Always remember that you might be judged by the first impression you make.

T-Think before you react to the situation at hand! Always decide if it is really worth it.

I-Interests! Experience new interests. Begin reading, join a choir, do some volunteer work, take a short drive and look at the beautiful autumn scenery.

E-Exercise important to help relieve stress when you are working on making a change. It is stressful changing and you don't want to always be clinching your teeth so you don't lose your temper.

N- Necessary or not? Do you need to seek professional help? If you do by all means seek it. A professional could have lots of ideas, suggestions on things you can work on to help you achieve this patience virtue. Ask God each night to help you.

C- Change your eating habits. Work on eating more healthy, so you begin to feel good about yourself. Looking good inside and out.

E-Evaluate your progress on a weekly basis. Determine what you have done well and what you not done well. Set your goals for the next week and keep working on it. Do not give up.
