Indian Navy's fighter jet crashed in Goa

Indian Navy's fighter jet called MiG 29K has crashed over the sea off Goa. The incident happened while the jet was at routine sortie over the sea off Goa and developed a technical malfunction at the time of returning to base and crashed over the sea.

The pilot made quick decision and ejected safely and even has been recovered in a swift Search and Rescue Operation. A Board of Inquiry (BoI) has been set up to investigate the cause of the incident. Now as per the official information the pilot has recovered and is stable.

Crashed Indian Navy's fighter jet was the twin-engine MiG-29K and it had developed a technical malfunction while returning to base.

History of MiG 29:

The Mikoyan MiG-29 is a twin-engine fighter aircraft which was designed in Russia. It has 1430 km ranges and 2446 km/h top speed.

The Navy ordered a Board of Inquiry (BoI) to investigate the cause of the incident. MiG-29K fighter aircraft is only operated by the Indian Navy in the world.

MiG-29k was acquired from Russia along with Admiral Gorshkov that has been renamed INS Vikramaditya in India.

It has been many incidents happened with this fighter jets.

The safety record of the MiG-29Ks is not very good since its inclusion.

The force is already making the mind at the procurement of 25-26 foreign fighter aircraft for operations from the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant that had been commissioned by the Prime Minister in Kochi in recent past times. The MiG-29s are deployed in Goa at the naval base INS Hansa.

MiG-29 crashed earlier in 2020, 2019 and 2018 officially reported on February 23, 2020 and on November 16, 2019. The first loss of an Indian MiG-29K happened in 2018.
