Migration accélérée vers le cloud, lequel attirera l'essentiel du budget 2023, estime Colt. Les entreprises atteignent les KPI plus rapidement que prévu

73% des responsables informatique assurent qu'ils consacreront une « grande partie » de leurs dépenses à la migration vers le cloud d'ici à 2024. La crise sanitaire, par son implication sur le télétravail, a également renforcé la tendance. La demande de connectivité est confirmée. Ce ne sera, toutefois, pas sans difficultés.

Selon l'étude, menée auprès de 500 décideurs IT en Europe et en Asie, les projets peuvent achopper sur plusieurs obstacles. Classique, le budget. Il représente toujours un frein majeur, notamment parce que l'intégration est souvent plus complexe que prévue. La complexité technique des solutions reste un autre facteur critique de la migration. Ce qui pose la question du choix des bons partenaires pour accompagner les projets à terme. Ce sont, à en croire Colt, les fournisseurs de connectivité et les consultants.

Cloud, migration plus facile que prévu

« Certains défis perçus autour de la migration étaient largement infondés », estime Jaya Deshmukh, EVP Strategy and Transformation, Colt. Le constat est intéressant. 67 % des personnes interrogées dans les entreprises qui ont déjà investi dans des applications cloud ont trouvé la migration plus facile que prévu…

Le rapport met également en évidence la manière dont les responsables informatiques répartissent leur temps entre les principaux éléments de la stratégie -planification, tests, migration et optimisation. Pour Colt, l'optimisation n'est pas encore suffisamment exploitée. Or, elle permettrait de récolter de plus grands bénéfices.

Les personnes interrogées qui avaient supervisé une connectivité cloud optimisée ont vu une gamme d'avantages. Notamment des performances améliorées (41 %), une plus grande visibilité du réseau (39 %) et une meilleure sécurité (45 %), car elles pouvaient apporter plus de produits ou de solutions, par exemple, SASE (Secure Access Server Edge). SASE est également l'une des principales fonctionnalités que les décideurs envisagent ou incluront dans de futurs projets (66 %), avec l'orchestration hybride et multi-cloud (66 %).

Connectivité flexible

Toujours selon Colt, les entreprises atteignent les KPI plus rapidement que prévu. Les responsables informatiques estiment avoir déjà atteint près de la moitié (49 %) de leurs objectifs, 11 % ayant terminé les KPI de leur projet.

En termes d'enseignements tirés, la connectivité flexible arrive en tête de liste des fonctionnalités que les responsables informatiques auraient souhaité inclure dans les projets de migration précédents (24 %). En effet, les projets réussis sont souvent suivis de plus de demandes que la connectivité fixe peut ne pas être en mesure de gérer. La planification d'une connectivité flexible qui peut s'adapter à la demande pendant les projets et se réduire lors de l'évaluation, des tests ou de l'optimisation atténue ce problème.
