In the first match of Super 4, Sri Lanka won the match by 4 wickets with Afghanistan due to great performance in batting. Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl first thus Afghanistan first batted and made a score of 175/6 in 20 overs due to great batting by Rahmanullah Gurbaz 84 (45), Ibrahim Zardan 40 (38), and Najibullah Zardan 17(10). Dilshan Madushanka 2/37 (4), Maheesh Theekshana 1/29 (4), and Asitha Fernando 1/34 (4) were good batting from the Sri Lanka side. After this inning, Afghanistan set a good target of 176 runs in 20 overs for Sri Lanka to win this match.
During chasing, Sri Lanka loses 6 wickets, reached the target of 176 runs in 19.1 overs, and won the match with 4 wickets with Afghanistan due to great batting by Kusal Mendis 36 (19), Pathum Nissanka 35 (28), Danushka Gunathilaka 33 (20), Bhanuka Rajapaksa 31 (14), and Wanindu Hasaranga 16 (9). Mujeeb Ur Rahman 2/30 (4), Naveen-ul-Haq 2/40 (4), and Mohammad Nabi 1/34 (4) were good bowling from the Afghanistan side.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (AFG), 84 (45), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
