Fourth degree burns by those she loved,
made all trust fade, feelings were gloved,
made all trust fly, linger above,
allowed great doubts to tug and shove.
She only trusts what can not lie,
the one who comforts silent cries,
the one who lives behind her eyes,
gives her hopes wings that help her fly.
She only trusts the thoughts she thinks,
follows her heart to dodge conflicts,
follows her soul so feelings link,
builds confidence up brick by brick.
She only trusts what lives inside,
only what her feelings provide,
only what her spirit supplies,
the notions minds can not disguise.
She only trusts herself and source,
the voice that whispers silent thoughts,
the voice that guides her through life's course,
gifting her a grand inner force.
With time she healed and took a chance,
chose to give faith a longer glance,
chose to give hope some room to prance,
so that each day could be enhanced.
