Création de la BDIA -Belgium Digital Infrastructure Association. Une initiative nécessaire à l'aune du virage numérique de notre économie.
Cloud, connectivité, data centers… L'économie numérique passe par les infrastructures. C'est tout naturellement que le secteur s'unit pour mieux faire connaître l'industrie belge des infrastructures numériques. La BDIA favorisera une collaboration plus étroite entre les principaux acteurs de l'écosystème pour promouvoir une économie numérique.
La numérisation est impossible sans infrastructures numériques qualitatives. Sans ce socle, l'économie numérique ne pourrait se développer davantage. Il est donc important que l'infrastructure numérique en Belgique agisse comme un secteur à part entière, un secteur connecté. Cinq acteurs du marché sont à l'origine de la BDIA : ABB, Datacenter United, KevlinX, Stulz et Waldc.be.
Tirer profit de la situation centrale de la Belgique
Les bases d'une économie axée sur les données sont des infrastructures performantes et stables. « Nous voulons mettre la Belgique sur la carte en tant que pays d'affaires, déclare Barro Luitjes, CEO, KevlinX. De par sa situation centrale en Europe, la Belgique est une base opérationnelle idéale ; le secteur numérique belge a un fort potentiel de croissance. »
De fait, notre économie se transforme de plus en plus en un écosystème axé sur les données. De là, l'importance d'infrastructures fiables, performantes et hautement sécurisées. Pour la BDIA, ces conditions sont le fondement de la confiance dans la transformation des flux en processus numériques hautement automatisés.
Une organisation de mise en relation
Dans ce contexte, la BDIA deviendra le point de contact professionnel par et pour le secteur -sa vocation initiale. Elle jouera un rôle de catalyseur de visibilité. Aussi, elle entend organiser des événements où le réseautage et la connexion seront favorisés. La BDIA favorisera également l'emploi dans le secteur. La communication sera donc au cœur de son activité -partage de connaissances factuelles sous forme d'études, d'enquêtes, de publications et d'articles…
Au fil des ans, l'infrastructure numérique belge a mûri en partie grâce à sa situation centrale, sa connectivité développée et ses liens étroits avec d'autres pays européens. Le secteur demande donc depuis un certain temps déjà une organisation de mise en relation qui la représente.
« Notre objectif est de promouvoir le secteur et d'offrir des opportunités de mise en réseau à nos membres, poursuit Friso Haringsma, General Manager, Datacenter United. Egalement en direction des étudiants, des demandeurs d'emplois et de tous ceux qui veulent promouvoir ce secteur en pleine croissance. »
