Introduction – World Hepatitis Day is observed annually on July 28 to spread awareness about the viral disease among common people across. The liver is an important organ in the human body that works is to filter the blood that is come from the digestive tract before passing its remaining parts of the human body. The main aim of this international day is to raise awareness about viral hepatitis which is an inflammation of the liver that causes severe liver disease with hepatocellular cancer. There are five main strains of hepatitis such as virus namely A, B, C, D, and E in which hepatitis B and C combined are one of the most common causes of death across the world. As per World Health Organization, there is around 354 million people are suffering from hepatitis B and C all around the world.
History - World Hepatitis Day is observed annually on July 28 every year to celebrate and honor the work of Dr. Baruch Samuel Blumberg. In past, American Physician, Dr. Baruch Samuel Blumberg was a Nobel-Prize-winning scientist that discovered the severe or viral Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and also developed a vaccine with a diagnostic test for this virus.
