the spider weaves her sticky trap
the boy rips his fleshy hands from the dirt
she is tired yet continues
he is confused, scared even
her eyes glisten in the light of the sun beaming
and he is mortified of her many gazing optics
she was taught to create when scared
yet he was taught only to destroy as a real man should
she was a small creature
yet her presence made him feel uneasy
so as she weaved and webbed
the boy takes the hands that belong to him
the same hand taught to destroy
and rips the web in half as he did to the dirt
he does not know his wrongness
but he feels a sense of guilt
the boy mixes up this feeling
yet still tells the father
and the father says "you are a man"
the boy feels proud
the spider was weaving her sticky trap
and she was vulnerable and innocent
yet the boy still felt agitated
and was taught to destroy
"as all the real men do"
