Last night we went to The Little Theatre and watched this really cute British film called, "Mr. Malcom's List" which was very nice. I love that theatre, it's so fun and has real butter on their popcorn which Seth loves.
Then this morning we got up early and went kayaking with a few people from the Discord!! We finally met some of the people IN PERSON who we have been chatting with online since moving here. It's basically like a chatroom for people who live in Rochester, kind of similar to how we made friends in North Carolina by joining that FB group.
The kayaking place was so nice and it was gorgeous and fun, the people who work there are so welcoming and nice too. We kayaked for two hours and got a workout for sure, my arms are SO sore. We saw lily pads and beautiful white water lilies, two swans and baby swans, and just GREEN everywhere.
After the kayaking we all went to this brewery and met up with 3 other people from the discord so it was 6 people in total that we got to meet finally in person!! I'm really glad we went. It just seemed like a great opportunity to meet some potential friends that I did not want to miss out on. Even just friends in the sense that we know people we can go bike ride with or do whatever with, or when I am lonely and Seth is busy, I could reach out to one or a few of them and have someone to hang out with.
I had a honey cider that was delicious and a burger and we all just sat and talked for hours and got to know each other. It was really great. My social battery - as small as it is - got all the way filled.
I guess more people are meeting up tonight for a fire but I feel like one social event in a day is enough for me. I know there will be others and now that I have met some folks I feel more comfortable posting and asking if anyone wants to hang at any given time.
Going to set up the tent and just do some yard camping this weekend. Was considering going to a state forest buuuuut it's 4th of July weekend meaning everywhere might be crowded, and anyway Seth wants to get the oil changed on the truck. I can camp right here anyway and have almost as much fun and go to a park during the day. Basically same experience as camping but not having to pack and go anywhere.
