God wanted you alive and your arrival in this world gave him great pleasure. He did not need to create you but He chose to create you for His glory. When you fully understand this truth, you will never have to worry about feeling insignificant. If you're that important to God, and He considers you valuable enough to keep with Him for eternity, what greater significance could you have?
You are a child of God and bringing glory to Him is your first purpose in life. And as a return, He also gave us five senses and emotions so we can experience life. He wants for us to enjoy life, not just endure it.
For sure now, you're asking me, "But how can I give glory to God?"
The Bible says, "The Lord is pleased only with those who worship Him and trust His love." And anything that we do that brings pleasure to God is an act of worship. You're maybe thinking of church services with singing, praying, and listening to sermons, ceremonies, and communions right now but these are just elements of worship but worship is far more than these expressions. Worship is as natural as eating and breathing. It is a lifestyle.
Another misconception is when we usually complain if a certain sermon doesn't resonate with our lives. Because the thing is worship isn't for us. It's for God's benefit. When we worship, our goal is to bring pleasure to God, not ourselves. And God doesn't want a half-hearted and hypocritical act too. He's not touched by tradition in worship, but by passion and commitment. Worship is not a part of your life; it is your life. That's why the Bible says, "Whatever you do, work with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men."
Take it easy,
Yela, the wonderer
