Taste of Korea μ° T.O.K JJIN – Authentic-Tasting Korean BBQ and Jjajangmyeon At Amoy Street was where Classmate took me to for this fabulous meal.
Classmate and I studied in the University of Oregon and she occupied the townhouse next to mine.
We took turns cooking meals in her townhouse and pooled together our groceries for our nightly dinners. As foreign students on a budget, we did not starve but we were frugal and careful in our expenses.
Now that we are adults, we can afford to have good meals but diet becomes a priority.
Classmate enjoys good food and knows where to go for meals whereas I am the one with a rubber mouth, not knowing how in appreciating or where to go.
This restaurant was located in Amoy Street - not a place I would go to but pleasantly surprised by a new eatery that served up authentic Korean food.
Classmate shared that partners who owned this eatery are 2 Koreans and a Singaporean. The chef is a Korean, brothet of one of the partners.
I loved the sides...comprising kimchi, blanched brocolli with Korean sauces, big head bean sprouts and sliced fish cake. Free flow, I felt it was good enough for lunch, no need for other dishes.
Classmate ordered kimchi pancakes, kimchi soup with pork, stir fried pork and bibimbap rice.
It was delish....my adventures then continued with a tour of Temple Street and Chinatown Complex guided by Classmate.
