John 1:5 – "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it."
Today was a great day for me. Two years ago, I felt God lead me to make decisions about the future of my office properties and buildings. They were big moves for me. But I stepped forward with God's direction in faith.
Then things did not turn out like I thought the plan would be. I was all but losing hope. I thought I must have misunderstood what I felt the Spirit leading me to do. But God didn't tell me the whole plan when He told me to take that first step through the door.
It's easy to lose hope when you're waiting on God. You're listening, you're praying, and you're thinking anytime now God's going to tell me something that's going to help kick open the gate that is keeping me from realizing what I thought God was going to do.
Today, no matter what the circumstance is, we all have hopes that God will answer our prayers. We know the answers we ask and hope for. But at the same time, we know that what God does for us is the best.
Two years later, God has taken me to a place that I could never have imagined. It is now far better than what my expected plan and outcome was. I can only now say that thank God I was willing to listen and take that first step in faith. Blessed am I. For now, I am even more committed to walk each day in faith and obedience to the One who controls the stars and time itself.
Today, hope for your dreams, but know that whatever God brings to you is the very best for you. The question is whether you are prepared to listen and take that first step in faith and obedience. Do not become discouraged.
Rejoice and know there is no better place to be than trusting in His ways.
