"The God Particle & Quantum Black Holes"

CERN is the European Organization for Nuclear Research. It was founded in 1952 with the mandate of establish a world-class, cutting-edge, fundamental physics research in Europe. On July 5th, 2022 they are going to be starting up the worlds largest super collider. In essence they will be smashing together, at the speed of light, pairs of protons, in order to break them apart to discover what the call the "God Particle". That is the fundamental particle that makes up all matter. In doing so, they also believe they may be able to creat a "Quantum Black Hole". Until now these have been theoretically possible, but there is clear evidence they will actually be created in this light speed collision.

For those of you who are science nerds like me, you know that a black hole is formed in space when a star bigger than our sun collapses in on itself. This forms a gravity well or hole, that warps space and time. The force of gravity is so strong that everything near it is trapped and pulled into it, and nothing, not even light, can ever escape. To a Bible believer it kind of sounds like the entrance to hell. So, a "quantum black hole" is one of these on a very, very microscopic or quantum level. It has been a mathematical theory up to this point, but CERN believes they can creat one in their lab, when they attempt to discover the "God Particle". Why is that such a big deal? No one knows for sure what will happen if they succeed. Will it simply dissipate, or will it open a hole in space and time that no one can close?
