
  The verdict that came out of the Virginia courthouse was stunning: While Johnny Depp prevailed and Amber Heard was utterly discredited, their toxic relationship forever tarnished whatever Hollywood luster they could claim before the trial got underway.
 But unfortunately, the biggest loser of all will likely be legitimate victims of abuse who have been harmed by Amber Heard's attempt to cloak herself in the flag of the #MeToo movement.
 After six weeks of bizarre and lurid testimony drew to a close, the jury unanimously ruled that Amber Heard defamed ex-husband Johnny Depp on all counts and awarded Depp $15 million in damages.

 Most people agree that the so called #MeToo movement became damaged goods on its conception.  No one took the time to "think it out" to consider the ultimate possibilities and to take preemptive steps to ensure the movement was not used as a political or ideological bludgeon.  Worse yet, those who legitimately championed victims of abuse, never, ever, considered how the accompanying "believe all women" slogan would negate any credibility of the #MeToo organization.
 In my opinion the progressive cult is far too often prone to failing to adequately consider all the implications and eventualities of their plans.
  The phrase "Me Too" was initially used in this context on social media in 2006, on Myspace, by sexual assault survivor and activist Tarana Burke.  The purpose of "Me Too", as initially voiced by Burke as well as those who later adopted the tactic, is to empower sexually assaulted people through empathy and solidarity through strength in numbers, especially young and vulnerable women, by visibly demonstrating how many have experienced sexual assault and harassment, especially in the workplace.[1]
