To me the main point of the article cited below missed the point. The article was about the suffering of the people they were rescuing and how those people are still a threat because they believe in a cause. What I got out of it was that the IS leadership, like so many others before them took the money and ran, leaving deluded, destitute people to carry on the best they could. The leader has a perverted mind and their followers do not see it. The leader sees power and money, the follower wants to believe that anything is better than what they left behind. It did not work out that way.

How history and human nature repeat themselves. The IS leaders ran off with he money and let their "faithful "bear the attack and ultimately dodge the defeat. SDF forced failed to cut the head off the snake. As the story indicated, many of the refugees see a future battle where they will rise again.
