Where Did He Go?

Psalm 142:4 – "When I look beside me, I see that there is no one to help me, no one to protect me. No one cares for me."

Life is made of Hills and Valleys. No matter how long you may be on the mountaintop, at some point, eventually you will tread down that hill into another valley. As believers, we are not insulated or excused from the mountain/valley experience.

The mountaintops are so wonderful, yet the valleys can feel so lonely. It's as the psalmist said, "You look beside yourself and you wonder, 'Where did God go?'"  I thought He cares for me so much and I felt his presence so intensely when I was on the mountaintop.

For you as a Believer, going through the valleys, though, is essential to the development of your character and your spiritual personality. It is during these times that you must cling to:

1. Promises in the scripture
2. Praise and worship, and
3. Your prayer life.

Otherwise, you will fall into fear, despair and loneliness.

In Deuteronomy 3:18, it says, "the Lord himself will lead you and be with you. He will not fail you or abandon you, so do not lose courage or be afraid."

Remember, even in your lowest of the valley, God is still present and beside you. It's just a whole lot easier to look up and see Him when you're going up the hill towards the top of the mountain and when you're on the top. On your way down, you are looking down into the valley. In the valley you're just trying to make it through the day sometimes. That's why it's so essential that you praise and pray. Remember, He is still there even in the darkest of times. Hold on tight.

Stay healthy and have a blessed week!
