Summer is for self Care….
Ever heard the expression "the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence"?  Ever waken up wishing to yourself, that you had an easier life, a different one, in another city, another community, another world? I know the feeling, I'll be the first one to admit to it today .

Some of us transitioners have lived on one side of the fence long enough to study the grass laying on the other side, and think, "that grass looks greener there"! Ever felt that way? How interesting it seems when somebody else's "best" work always seem more valuable than ours, to our own eyes, simply because it shows,  therefore it looks easy and more attractive? Well I' m here to encourage someone today.

You may not have been on the other side of the fence to see why it looks so exciting (I have been there and I miss it every now and then lol), but don't undervalue your hardwork. Maybe you are involved right now in a bigger, and tougher, more complex battle just where you are? Maybe being alive, or staying healthy, breathing,  is enough hard work already? Please keep at it.  When you are tired of trying, when you are unmotivated by the lack of recognition and consideration by others, you are depressed by what's going on around you, and you are still trying, you are more than deserving.

That last statement i just made calls for another truth…. Sometimes, that grass you see on the other side is only greener because you make it look or sound like it. Someone'else's ignorance of you, of your struggles, efforts, is tiring  when you are constantly being denied. Being ignored, denied of your very identity ,or what you stand for, or what you are all about, when you keep trying your best, is tiring. But you are not undeserving. Congratulations if you are doing your best.

There's always more to the story than just having it easy. Ignorance is never easy, it comes at a great price. Never compare your path, your life, your struggle with that of another one. Think and reflect on this with me .what is there to admire about an easy, 'ignorant" life? Disaster, waiting to happen. Where there is challenge, hardship, there is a prize,  treasure to seek and find, a race to complete in order to win?

Easy is never the good side of a story. At least easy is never enough. It would be ignoring everything that you are made of. You are a legacy of all the battles fought before you, batlles that you ve fought too, or that you are fighting right now. Believe me, i know that you don't have to look for a battle to be in one. Don't ignore your battles. Embrace each day with a perspective that there is something waiting for you to enjoy….

An easy life is not necessarily a better life.
Make no mistake. When you are settling for easy , somebody else is paying for it. Not only you owe it to yourself to know who that person is, just so that you can thank him or her enough. But you owe that person everything that you are with your life. Easy does not do it when it comes to life.

Some of us didn't realize how"easy" we used to have it until something deeper, tougher came to challenge us, wake us up,  and threatened to take us out. Take a deep breath. Having a not so easy life means that you are alive. It means that you are aware.  It also means that you may not be in control of all the circumstances coming into and going out of your life but you are in a position to trying your best.  Nobody else is in control of their life circumstances….

Enjoy your summer journey…
