After winning this match, SRH was placed at the 8th position with 12 points and a low net run rate as compared with Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL points table 2022. MI remained at the 10th or last position with 6 points in the IPL 2022 points table after losing this match.
Earlier Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first thus SRH first batted and made a huge score of 193/6 in 20 overs due to great batted by Ramandeep Singh 3/20 (3), Jasprit Bumrah 1/32 (4), Daniel Sams 1/39 (4), and Riley Meredith 1/44 (4). Rahul Tripathi 76 (44), Priyam Garg 42 (26), and Nicholas Pooran 38 (22) were good batting from the SRH side. After this inning, SRH set a target of 194 runs in 20 overs for MI to win this match.
During chasing, MI scored 190/7 and lose this very close match by only 3 runs with SRH due to good bowled by Umran Malik 3/23 (3), Bhuvneshwar Kumar 1/26 (4), and Washington Sundar 1/36 (4). Rohit Sharma 48 (36), Tim David 46 (18), and Ishan Kishan 43 (34) were good batting from the MI side.
Rahul Tripathi (SRH), 76 (44), was declared as the Player of the Match due to his great performance in batting.
