Before I continue, I want to acknowledge the Fathers of Faith in this country. Men who have been consistent through the years in bringing thousands to Christ and nurturing believers to maturity. From the well-known ones to the ones whose faces we do not know, I bless God for your lives…
To those who have laboured over the body of Christ in this nation in one way or the other, whether in prayers, teachings, worship, giving, service, mentoring, etc. I want you to know that your labour is not in vain. Men might not understand the magnitude of your effort but the Lord knows and He will reward you…
I know many fake men have risen and led some astray. I know it's disheartening to see people getting baptized with coke and fanta, people eating grass, people lying down for an acclaimed man of God to stand on them, people being wrestled with in the name of deliverance, people being scammed of their lives savings for solutions to their problems, worse still people being sexually harassed in the four walls of the church… the list is endless! (You can't help but wonder if people don't think at all)
I know all sort of scandals and rumors might have spread concerning some "pastors" but still… let us learn to honour those who are true. Those who truly follow after Christ. Yes, you might know more than them but you haven't laboured more than them. Be careful not to speak in dishonor about one who is a "Father". This is not a matter of "human exaltation". Don't misquote me. All I am saying is that, this generation should learn how to honour men.
It's really alarming how some people who call themselves believers are able to hide under the guise of social media to make disrespectful comments about men of God or to pass judgements on issues they know nothing about.
I admonish you, please don't join them. Don't mock men of God. If you disagree with some of the things that they say or teach, go back to the scriptures and check or ask from a mentor or teacher. If they are indeed wrong, it is really not your place to speak about it openly. If you must, apply lots of wisdom and also love. You don't have to listen to them if you feel it is detrimental to you but don't look down on people who do.
Just like you might disagree with your parents on a particular point of view, you don't just blatantly say "Dad, you are wrong! If only you were more educated…" I am sure you would have received a nice slap before completing your statement, lol. Instead, you keep finding subtle ways to pass your message across. If you can be patient with your parents, be patient with the Fathers too. Pray for them rather, that God guides them aright.
Especially now that most of them are growing closer to being with the Lord, let us not rob ourselves of their blessings and impartations because we are not humble enough to receive....
Wow! Like someone would say, "Can you believe I haven't started my message yet?!"
I wanted to throw some questions to the sisters. Brothers, close your eyes Sisters, what exactly is going on? What is happening? You dunno abourrit?
So, I heard some sisters now wear mini skirt to church? To even lead worship? And when corrected they say "I am under Grace. Jesus doesn't care about what I wear" Youdonminit! So, you really think it's okay to wear a long dress and slit it up to halfway your thighs? You think it's okay to show that "little cleavage" because it's an Owanbe dress? Haew!
I'm even surprised how some sisters would be decent for as long as you've known but on their wedding day, they wear stuff you're embarrassed to see, even to the church ceremony! They say they want to look "hot" for their husbands. Hmmm... It's not bad but why can't you wait a few more hawass?!
Let's be real nau! What then is the difference between a believer and an unbeliever? Iss like you don't understand ni? Should I increase the volume? Ahhh! We shall jam in the next chapter! Mo need omi tutu...
*To be continued*
Am I shaking tables or You want me to continue? Abeg no vex I don't want one chapter to be too long. Monday will soon be here. I also want to appreciate everyone for their support so, I was really overwhelmed by the views, reposts and comments. Thank you and God bless you
