Last year on this day, father of one of my closest friends had expired due to covid. He was completely devastated. Due to covid outbreak, I couldn't go personally, but I tried to console him on telephone.

He was inconsolable. All sorts of negative thoughts were coming to his mind. I still remember his words, "People say this too shall pass. Yes, it shall pass, but not for me."

Anyway, time is the best healer. His bad time has passed. He is now fine. But what is of utmost importance is the negative thinking. It comes at times. Nobody is an exception. But it shouldn't persist. It changes the way of life. Lord Buddha had said, "Mind is everything. Our life is shaped by our mind. What we think, we become."

The Law of Attraction (LOA) states that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person's life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes.

If someone thinks that he is always ill and troubled, short of money, then in real life also, the universe sets the things and events in that way only. We are what our thinking has made us. So be mindful of what you think and say.

In our Hindu philosophy, it's believed that Ma Saraswati (Goddess of Wisdom) resides for some moments on our tongue, and whatever a person speaks then, those words become true. Hence we are advised not to speak ill of anybody. Thoughts and words travel far and wide.

Every negative thought takes away our life from positivity. But is it possible always to think positive? Negative thoughts are bound to come, as we come across so many sad and unpleasant events every now and then. That's so natural. But should we sway by that?

For example, my friend said, "My life has devastated. I'm orphaned". But that's not the end. He should instead think and say, "My life has been devastated, I'm orphaned, but.. I'm a father, and I would be a great father like my father, for my son."

One may always grumble,"The world is very bad. People are irresponsible." But if he sees the positivity around him, he may like to rephrase it,
"The world is very bad, people are irresponsible, but.. now things are changing, many good people are sowing the seeds of hope in the society. Everything will be fine."

Even I used to say very frequently during my early days, "I would have been in the top echelon, but..."
But now I think, "I would have been in the top echelon, but whatever I have achieved, I'm satisfied and enjoying my position."

So friends, remember, whenever a negative thought comes in your mind, get alerted immediately and convert it into positive by putting a "but.."

"But" may have a negative connotation, but you can use it for being positive. All you have to do is to add a positive sentence, and your subconscious mind will accept it as correct and the universe may present similar experiences in your life!

And this should be spontaneous while saying or thinking either alone or in the group. I know it looks easy to say so, but challenging to practise, to control the thoughts. But don't worry, practice makes one perfect.
