I have been enjoying my time at Cook Children's. It is a wonderful experience. Everyone is welcoming, kind, and ready to answer questions if you have them.

On Tuesday, I helped edit an article for CheckUp Newsroom. I also searched for images to attach and post with the article. After doing that, I created social copy suggestions for the story.
Later that day, I was assigned a story by the Multimedia Storyteller over Daylight Saving. So, I reached out to the Medical Director, Sleep Laboratory, Dr. Hilary Pearson, for an interview.

On Thursday, I finalized my interview meeting day and time with Dr. Pearson and attended the weekly PR team meeting where I discussed the story I will be working on. After that, I did research and created questions for the interview.

On Friday, I interviewed Dr. Pearson for the story. The interview was a huge learning experience, from collecting the story for an article to learning the effects losing one hour of sleep can have on the body. I had a great time interviewing Dr. Pearson. She was informative, easy to speak to, and even bought me coffee from Starbucks. I will start working on this story this weekend, and I am confident about how it will turn out.

*Fun Fact: I learned in the 1950s to about the 1970s melatonin pills came from the part of a pig or cow's brain that created it.*
