I know there are lots of people out there who find this day of the year either very overrated, exaggerated, or simply don't see the point in it. What I will say is that I don't think that if you are in a close relationship with someone, that you should ONLY use this day to show your love and appreciation, because this is something you should be showing throughout your relationship as a constant and not on one single day that has been pretty much labelled with "love". I'll also say that if you don't have a partner, or aren't in a relationship, that you can use this day as a FAB excuse to go out and have fun with your friends! It's the first day of half term for a lot of people here in the UK so that's been timed quite well. Don't overdo it though, or you'll be feeling the after effects tomorrow!
Whether you love to get dressed up for a fancy meal, or prefer staying in with a takeaway and film, whatever you choose to do (if you do celebrate Valentine's Day), simply do what you enjoy. Sometimes it's nice to get that special someone a box of chocs and they can even be a close family member that you want to show gratitude towards. It's the little things that show you care, and don't feel like you have to spend lots in the process. Try to also not compare yourself to those on social media who go into gush overload, because at the end of the day, it's up to you who you choose to show your appreciation for - whether you do this on February 14th or any other day of the year.
I just wanted to post this blog to show you all some love and appreciation to those of you who are always reading, commenting, liking, and of course following my blog. I do try to keep this a space of positive discussion, or speak on topic matters of importance, and the feedback of support I get (especially on my fitness posts!!) doesn't go unnoticed, so thank you.
Happy Valentine's to you all, and I hope you have all had a positive and uplifting day.
