Delilah's Lap; To Be Or Not To Be, That Is The Question

What are you doing, my son? What are you doing, son of my womb? What are you doing, son of my vows? Do not give your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings. Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land. Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Proverbs 31:2‭-‬3‭, ‬8‭-‬12‭, ‬23‭, ‬25‭-‬30 ESV

This morning I start as I ponder on a very profound verse in Proverbs... "For her worth is far above rubies" (Proverbs 31:10). Yesterday I stated we should be careful not to place ourselves in Delilah's Lap. I woke to the virtues of a good woman in your hands. A lot of time women are told this is their place and portion right? But, for me like King Lemuel I see that it is for men to note where they place themselves. I didn't chase after Kyenpiya for her beauty alone. I chased after her as she understood a life of versatility and hungered to please my Jesus. For me as King in her life I have not succeeded just yet. We are on a journey.

How is this possible, and what makes this Proverbial Girl so valuable? What makes her valuable is not what's on the outside, but everything she responsibly deposits on the inside, like personal quiet time with the Father, healthy friendships, good mentors and even healthy diets and exercise. A Proverbial Girl must be willing to stop allowing things of no value to be placed on her table of life and be willing to invest quality "ingredients" on the inside. A Proverbial Girl also takes proper care of herself because she knows that her body, soul and mind are the temple of God.

Samson took on Delilah and she made his soul wary. Today's verse says so much about the right kind of woman. I see quality hard working women daily. I also see that many such a woman make just one or two bad choices. I have asked Kyenpiya what made the decision for you to accept me as king over your life? She stated firmly non pointed me to Jesus as you did. Non loved Jesus as you did. They all wanted one thing... You see the woman you have is far worth more than rubies and she makes her husband enter a state... Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all."

Are you known at the gates or would you like Samson take of the gate of the city which protects the city from the enemy and walk away? When you steal her most precious sexuality and dash off you end up with Delilah. She was not a prostitute you know! She only wanted a better life for herself and family. Are you a source of better life for your wife sire? Do her actions cause your children and yourself to praise her? If she is not to be praised brother the real problem is you as love covers a multitude of sin. Ask yourself as King Lemuel mum cause to ask, What are you doing, my son? What are you doing, son of my womb? What are you doing, son of my vows? Do not give your strength to women, your ways to those who destroy kings. Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy. An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. If you son of man waste your energy on the woman not your proverbial Proverbs 31 wife you shut the door on all the good God has for you. Father save us from Delilah's Lap in Jesus name. Every man should find solace in the blossom of the wife of their youth in Jesus name Amen! Shalom
