goodbyes are difficult. one day, you're with them, and the next thing you know – they've packed their bags and are leaving. one moment, they are promising to be the hand they'll hold forever. the next morning, they're slipping away.
how do people do that? how do people move on without closure?
they leave everything behind. they leave behind their hoodie. they leave behind the socks they gifted you on Christmas. they leave behind all the memories you made on that trip together. they leave you behind.
you find yourself in a limbo – carefully, you built your future around them. they were the anchor to your ship. they completed your puzzle.
and now, your puzzle feels incomplete.
so you never really learnt to say goodbye. how do you say goodbye when your heart still wants to hold on anyway? how do you make them stay when they've decided to leave? how do you continue to love someone knowing they'll break your heart one day?
how do you learn to live again after they are gone?
