Then, of course, to silence me during this period in my life when I felt a duty to challenge both the medical system and the government, the "establishment" trumped up charges to get me arrested – cruelty to animals – because my dogs weren't vaccinated and they didn't see a vet. I spent more than a month in jail in solitary confinement because I refused medical care in jail, (I refused medical care in jail – go figure that), before the charges were dropped.
