We are getting ready for the Winter holidays, holidays during which we are called upon to remember and to be grateful.
One of the most precious things we have to be grateful for is our innate freedom, the freedom to be and the freedom to become. We have the freedom to experience and to perceive, to discern and to discover, and to reach inward and outward. Those who are on the seeker's path, the way of the Warrior and of the Hero, appreciate the meaning of inreach and outreach.
I would mention particularly those who are on the homoerotic yogic path of Tantra, because those special seekers are guided by personal and social principles that have the potential, if lived dharmically, to change the person and the community. The homoerotic yogic Tantrika is a becoming master of physical and metaphysical in- and outreach.
Appreciation, gratitude, and generosity are principal sources of merit and good character in all world faith, belief, spiritual traditions. In homoerotic yogic Tantra we might call it dakṣiṇādeśanā (दक्षिणादेशना), which is associated with the performance of virtuous acts of giving.
As we celebrate the winter holidays in the spirit of gratitude and thanksgiving, we reflect not only on the intangible but very real gifts and freedoms we enjoy, but also on the material things we frequently take for granted.
Day of Giving
We should make every day a day of service, giving, and thanksgiving. On our Day of Giving, we show our appreciation to those persons and organizations for what they have done for us in the past year. The majority of what Dāka Karuṇā T. in the Homoerotic Tantra:Mascul-IN-Touch℠ and Mascul-IN-Timacy℠ programs and in 108 Days of Reflection & Meditation and Dao Meditation is totally free and the program never accepts favors or advertising. That's because we work on the principal that spiritual gifts and mentoring are given to share, and such gifts should never be sold.
If you are familiar with the programs offered by the fake gurus and mentors, or the millionaire self-help merchants, you know that their programs cost followers hundreds, even thousands of dollars. If you are familiar with Homoerotic Tantra ℠ you'll know that most of what we do is a gift; if there is a fee, it's kept to an absolute minimum (see our Code of Ethical Conduct). That's not to say that the work done by Homoerotic Tantra ℠ and our extracurricular work does not incur expenses in time and treasure.
While Daka and his closest followers try to do most of the work as a gift, in today's world most everything is expensive, and we also have overheads like subscriptions, office supplies, Internet service providers, etc. We cover those expenses through the generosity of others.
