"I love you", says Michael Jackson to all his fans, his smile that of a very young child. Of someone who can never die. Having devoured every word of his autobiography, having assimilated every truth he shared in his interviews, I have lived enough in his mind to know how alive he was. Despite his vitality, he died young. But he left enough of himself for us to continue to experience and be touched. Not just music, but enough of his interpretations of life. If you read through the comments that people write on his videos, you can feel the greatness of his spirit. In 2021, people still miss him. It is as if half the world is still crying and finding it hard to believe that he left us. I have never seen such a display of love for any artist or celebrity.

That hand you hold out to your loved ones today, will be gone. That smile you give them, will be lost. That love you feel for them, nothing will remain of it. All that was you, would be gone. And so, find a way of giving and loving that can outlive you. Don't say things that people will forget the next minute. Say things that will remain in their hearts for a lifetime. Don't give them things that will not last. Give them bits and pieces of yourself that they can cherish for a lifetime. Give them all that you have. Give them all that you are made of. Give them all that makes you who you are. The opportunity I value the most is the opportunity to touch lives. To make a difference every day. If my words can spark an inspiration in an uninspired mind, if they can be a source of comfort and strength to an ailing soul, if they can lead people towards meaning and authenticity, I experience the deepest fulfillment.
