I have attended some churches where things were so set in stone that there was no movement of the Holy Spirit allowed. Any deviation from the program, by God or man, was never allowed to happen. Other churches prided themselves on their "free flow". In these services, things were chaotic and disjointed. Flesh and Spirit were so intermingled that confusion overruled everything. It was impossible to find God's order in all the activity and busyness that went on.

Yet, 1 Corinthians 14:40 gives us a glimmer of hope. It says ; "But all things must be done properly and in an orderly manner." Paul was telling the Corinthian church there needs to be freedom to let the Spirit move as He wants to, but spiritual and personal restraints in place to keep things from moving in strange directions. Once a church finds that spiritual balance, it will begin to thrive, the gifts will flow, and the people will be set free to pursue the things of God for themselves. The church that finds God's order, will be a very healthy church.

Today's Prophetic Word: If your church is religious, rigid and regulated, or a social club that is flashy and fleshy, it might be time to go elsewhere. Find a church where the Spirit can move, the word is preached, and the people are growing strong in the Lord.
