Bloganuary Prompt: "Write about a few of your favorite family traditions."
Funny thing. When I saw this prompt I immediately thought of my family's traditions when I was growing up. Never mind I have three school-age kids of my own now!
The question actually stirs the topic well for me,
What are the traditions I have with my kids? What traditions do I want them to experience, and think of as they grow up?
Since we're a two-household family as their mom and I co-parent , this question seems all the more active and pressing for me.
When we all lived under one roof it was east for me to default to whatever their mom thought were good family stuff, traditions to make, follow…
Now I need to be the active catalyst of what special things they'll experience and remember with me.
Into the fourth year of this model, it's high time I get going!
We've got a start. Road trips, one day adventures, a little Christmas tree, and so on and so on…
All good. The magic of the little moments and big adventures will create the traditions and memories that matter.
