Praise This is a 2023 American musical comedy film. It is a Peacock original movie and it was released on April 7th . Its cast is filled with talented people like Chloe Bailey( the main character), Jekalyn Carr, Quavo and Druski. This movie is about Sam an aspiring musician who was getting into trouble at home in Los Angeles. Her father decides to send her to live with his brother's family in Atlanta. Sam did not like that and she was mad at her father for doing that.
Sam wants to be a musician and she is a great singer. Her cousin Jess tried to make her like Atlanta and feel like she belongs but she was not happy. Eventually, Sam found peace with moving to Atlanta in the fact that TY(Quavo) a famous musician lives there. One night, she lies to her uncle that she was going to choir rehearsal and she went to a party Ty was throwing at his house. She got caught and her uncle forced her to join their struggling church choir. Sam liked it but she felt she will not be famous for singing gospel songs.
This movie is interesting and funny. There are a lot of talented people in this movie but their characters were not given enough backstory for us to be emotionally attached to them. It is a musical but we are not too bombarded with singing. The songs in this movie are amazing and also the choirs took regular secular songs from singers like Beyonce and Cardi B and made them gospel so that was cool.
