Recently I've gotten a couple of email advertisements for copy assistance. For those of you not in the business/marketing world, this would be products and services that provide/write articles and blog posts and social content for you. It's always billed as a fantastic way to save tons of time and effort as well as increase your consistency in posting. Sounds great, right?! Yes absolutely if you're a terrible writer or really just can't make the effort to create your own content and don't have a team available to help you with it. But what if you enjoy writing posts, even if it's sometimes a bit of a struggle or takes you some time to get it the way you want it? Is it really the right investment for you to make?
It got me thinking about the choices we make. Sure it sounds appealing to buy a bigger house or get the latest trendy clothes or get all these different apps or get all these program/product upgrades. Upgrades mean good things and good deals, and they're all upgrades for a reason, right? But do we really need them? Do we really need all the bells, whistles, upgrades and the newest tech? I'm all in support of new and more, but why invest in it if it isn't going to really give us something we need, or if it's going to take away some of our joy and pleasure in life and work?
What if what sounds like an upgrade will actually take away some of the joy in your life, some of the aspects that help you grow, and some of the responsibilities that keep you accountable? Don't give in to the pressure or the shine just because "everyone is doing it" or it sounds good or it's new or it's what you're "supposed" to do when you get to this place in life. Think first about what's best for you, what you really need, what will benefit and bless your life and relationships, and what will help you get to the next stage of your life journey. Then make a decision on whether or not to make that purchase or change.
