None of us are perfect. That includes our physical health. Even the Apostle Paul here describes a physical condition that was obviously a source of limitation and debilitation for him. Paul admits that he approached God on multiple occasions with a plea for healing. God's response to Paul is remarkable: "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness."
Why God heals one believer and not another has nothing to do with the worthiness of who He heals. God does not heal us so that we can live longer. Rather, all that Christ does in our lives is for a purpose. So that we can become conformed to His image.
Even today, I have been with a person who is going through chemotherapy. I know she is yearning for God's healing power in her life. I am praying for her even now.
But I believe whether healed or not, that God is using this opportunity for her to accept Christ as her Savior. My prayer is that she will be healed of cancer. My goal is to win her to Christ.
