Pooping my brains out

Welp. I'm getting a colonoscopy. Finally. After suffering with IBS-type symptoms since I was 18 years old. After it just getting worse throughout all my other health issues and antibiotics. After cancelling and putting it off for a few years more.

At 35 I'm getting one. I'm scared but everyone tells me the prep is the worst part. Well ironically the prep, which makes you poop your brains out, isn't making me feel all that terribly different from what I normally feel like when I'm having bad guts. I'm used to pooping a lot. This isn't any different. A bit more extreme sure.

After not eating anything for almost 24 hours, there isn't too much to clean out anyway.

I've drank four cups of broth so far and when you're starving, it's like a godsend, the steaming hot, savory liquid. It's kept me quite full actually. I thought being hungry would be the worst part. I'm actually quite happy to have a day off work tomorrow, take some drugs, get scoped, then go have a big bowl of pasta somewhere.

I told my husband I was craving pasta more than anything during my fast today. That's what I want when I get out of the hospital. Tomorrow I'll have to take the other dose ugh. Drinking the prep sucked. It's pretty gross. Ended up plugging my nose to mitigate the taste and sucked it down with a straw as they recommend.
