Far and wide he has traveled
To countries deemed "Developed"
In search of substantial means
Of support for his family's needs
Undeterred by trials and tribulations
While working in different positions
Employers curtailing his freedom at times
Passport confiscated, no reason or rhyme
Low wages for labor-intensive work
Sub-human living quarters, no perks
He is marked physically and emotionally
Faith in fellow humans is shaken daily
Yet, not a moment does he let
This Baggage dampen his spirit
Or deter him from his resolution
Of a better life for his loved ones
Once again he carries his Baggage
Squarely on his proud shoulder
Determined to look straight in the eyes,
Search the hearts of his new employers
His world-weary eyes warning
" You may take away my wages, my security,
But you will never rob me of my dignity"
