Acteur de premier plan dans la 5G pour l'industrie 4.0, Bosch s'avance sur les chemins de la 6G avec Nokia. Et de toucher à toutes les formes de mobilité.
« La 6G sera bien plus qu'une simple infrastructure de connectivité. Elle augmentera considérablement l'efficacité des voitures à conduite autonome. Elle impactera positivement les villes intelligentes et les industries connectées. Elle est donc un domaine technologique stratégiquement important pour nous. »
Le Dr Andreas Müller, qui regroupe et gère les activités 6G chez Bosch, a profité du Mobile World Congress 2023 à Barcelone pour annoncer l'extension de l'alliance avec Nokia. En 2017, ils s'étaient lancés ensemble dans la 5G.
Bosch apporte actuellement son expertise et son expérience à cinq projets financés par des fonds publics. Dans ce contexte, les projets 6G-ICAS4Mobility, KOMSENS-6G et 6G-BRAINS se concentrent principalement sur l'intégration de la communication et de la reconnaissance d'environnement basée sur des capteurs.
Drones, industrie 4.0
Bosch dirige le consortium pour le premier projet. En plus d'aborder des scénarios pertinents pour le trafic routier, les connaissances acquises dans le cadre du projet serviront, en particulier, de bases techniques pour les applications dans le domaine des drones connectés ainsi que dans l'industrie 4.0 -par exemple pour les systèmes de transport sans conducteur. Parallèlement, les projets 6G-ANNA et 6G-SHINE se concentrent sur de nouvelles structures de connectivité. Ceux-ci sont destinés à améliorer l'efficacité des futures architectures E/E dans les véhicules ou les cellules robotisées.
Bosch joue également un rôle de premier plan dans les discussions et activités relatives aux futures normes de communication mobile au sein de diverses alliances. Au sein de la 5GAA (5G Automotive Association), par exemple, des entreprises leaders des secteurs de l'automobile et des télécommunications travaillent ensemble pour développer des solutions pour la mobilité du futur. L'Alliance 5G pour les industries connectées et l'automatisation, la 5G-ACIA, rassemble des entreprises industrielles pour se concentrer sur la connectivité des machines et des équipements.
Réseaux avec un sixième sens grâce à l'intégration de la technologie des capteurs
Entre autres, la prochaine génération de communications mobiles intégrera de nouvelles fonctionnalités similaires aux capteurs radar. « Avec la 6G, il sera possible de détecter la position des objets dans la zone de couverture du réseau -sans que ces objets aient besoin d'être équipés d'un module radio, explique Andreas Müller. La 6G permettra des débits de données extrêmement élevés. On ira jusqu'au térabit par seconde. Côté latence, on vise les 100 microsecondes -ce qui est quatre fois plus rapide qu'un coup de foudre. Avec l'aide de jumeaux numériques, on pourra surveiller des processus de fabrication réels dans un monde virtuel sans restrictions temporelles et spatiales. Les experts prédisent que la première norme 6G sera achevée d'ici 2028… »
Ces derniers mois, l'Allemagne et l'Europe ont lancé un grand nombre de projets 6G. L'(ambition est claire : renforcer la souveraineté technologique. L'Allemagne fournira quelque 700 millions EUR au cours des trois prochaines années pour financer les activités 6G. En outre, le budget de l'UE a prévu près de 900 millions EUR supplémentaires jusqu'en 2027. Le Japon et les États-Unis ont également lancé des programmes d'investissement correspondants pour un total d'environ 4,5 milliards USD…
